Local Event: White Mass

October 1, 2013 6PM: First Annual White Mass at St. Vincent de Paul with Bishop Rhoades presiding, followed by a banquet with speaker Sister Deirdre “Dede” Byrne, a fully professed member of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts who performs overseas medical missionary work and provides free medical care for the poor and uninsured in the Washington, D.C., area. She is double boarded in both family practice and general surgery, holds the rank of colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, and serves as a member of the Advisory Council for the Archdiocese of Washington’s Health Care Network. Sr. Dede is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic and State University and Georgetown University School of Medicine. She has also served as Mother Teresa’s doctor and has some amazing stories of service to share. Please watch for invitations and RSVP information to come out in late summer.
